Art at home Guest house

¡®Art at Home¡¯, can be found at the Guest House of Paik Haeyoung Gallery, in the vicinity of Grand Hyatt Hotel, on Mt. Nam.
Within our grounds, we have a small garden with flowers in full bloom.
One can enjoy tea on the terrace, which looks out over the Mosque, just by the Han River. Behind the gallery is Mt. Nam, from which one can enjoy an impressive view of the whole city.

On the first floor of the gallery is a collection of Korean and international art (featuring Sherrie Levine, and Kenneth Noland). The second and third floors contain rooms dedicated to the works of particular artists (Simon Morley, Klega, Nishigawa, and others).

In the ‘Green and Brown’ space, we hold various cultural events such as ‘Art Bazaar’, as well as music concerts and exhibitions, through which young artists can use the space to communicate their ideas freely.

Residency Program :

Seoul / Cheongpyeong : Information to apply !

For several years Paik Hae Young Gallery has built a strong relationship between Korea and the rest of the world, in the field of contemporary art, architecture and culture. We believe that the promotion of foreign artists in Korea and korean artists abroad offers new exciting perspectives and interpretations in contemporary art.

For this reason, Paik Hae Young Gallery intends to establish a monthly residency program in Seoul for artists, musicians, critics etc. The goal of the residency is to encourage some new works or articles, inter-acting with the new environment, to offer individuals the chance to work with material outside their usual comfort zones, and to support interesting ideas and projects.

Individuals will be invited to Seoul to spend time conducting research at Paik Hae Young. At the end of the residency Paik Hae Young Gallery will provide the support to present this project.

In 2007, Paik Hae Young Gallery held several residency programs, such an architect Richard Gluckman with the organization of several meetings with mayors of different cities to talk about perspectives of museum development, or such a computer data projection artist Charles Sandison, with a program including an exhibition at the end of the stay.
The latest residency program with Simon Morley, who produced works during a six week residency, and used a number of different korean sources... He also had the opportunity to lead a lecture at Hongik University and Seoul University.
